NORTHERN IRELAND MERGER
The Blind Centre for Northern Ireland and
RNIB Northern Ireland have joined together to form the largest organisation supporting blind and partially sighted people in Northern Ireland. Both Boards voted unanimously and signed an agreement to work towards a legal completion which took effect in April 2007.
The aim is to bring the greatest possible benefit to people with sight problems by:
> providing a greater range of services to more people and
> speaking with a united voice to government and the community.
The new organisation -
RNIB incorporating the Blind Centre - will grow services not reduce them.
"We intend to continue to provide all the services that both organisations currently offer."
"We are looking forward to working together to build a united effective team focused on improving the lives of people with sight problems."
